stuka (1936)
Stuka
Ferrão
Yeah so. The only thing missing here is the fact that I was getting a site error trying to put a policy on the MIO, but we actually have 56 agility here before our army chiefs of staff and aces buffing planes further. This is just the improved airframe, we can go even harder. (I'm splurging on expensive parts here as naval fighters count as a lot more planes in a naval battle than shore launched fighters, therefor, being a bit expensive here for the meme of utterly slaughtering enemy craft makes me feel just a bit happy.) Because I had enough spare weight for rockets, I added rockets because that gives this an odd secondary role of just being able to logi-strike enemy ground forces if they stop putting up air defenses. _____ There are two great options for the MIO here, SAAB, which just gives you the best overall stats (60 agility despite how heavy this is,) and NAA, which gives you insane range. Skip NAA for newport news, NAA is really good, but its not so good you want cripple your escort carriers. Sadly, I couldn't simulate this all the way out: Funnily enough, the MIO policy for 5% agility refused to apply no matter what.
NAA IS funny
Yeah so.... The Americans get to make heavy fighters that nearly hit the speed cap for the speed advantage damage bonus on piston engines, and then turn well enough to dogfight too. You can cap it all out with 2x axial engines later. Yeah. NAA is a funny MIO.
Stuka
Historical stuka junkers ju 87. If we just could put in stuka siren.
Balanced Stats "Night Fighter"
A heavy aircraft that tries to use the ability to stack high defense with the radio navigation and phased radar array to ignore the majority of the night time penalty on interception missions. This can only fight effectively at night, but its at least efficient at something. Also like half of its potential bonuses are interception mission only, but that is a niche rather than the void howling sweet nothing's at us. __________ Uses self-sealing fuel tanks and strategic material uses to bring the IC cost down, but you can build this removing both if you are a nation like Germany who lacks rubber but has aluminum, or if you are wealthy like the US, you can remove the strategic material usage for more range I guess, for those cross Atlantic air raids where you still win flying from Greenland or Iceland.

1940 Fighter, Cannons with Drop Tank, 25/25 Weight/Thrust
For Industrialized nations that need a little more range on their fighters.
1940 Combat Fighter, 25/25 Weight/Thrust
Ideal for an industrialized nation that can continuously build airports as they advance to make up for the poor range of the fighters.
Expensive Test Nav
Carrier launched fighters get big multipliers to their effectiveness in certain cases, so I wanted to try designing one that maximizes how expensive it is for a little extra power and performance. Honestly, I'm somewhat disappointed, paradox has given us almost zero leeway for alternative air based weapons other than heavy machineguns to feel worth it. What you get back is very small, but the costs are quite high in material, agility (Agility is so fundamentally vital here,) and all other metrics. This should be solvable but getting them to the table to is going to be the hard part for us. The air mechanics, while they are probably the most toxic in the game, are fundamentally fixable, worth fixing, and likely high yield for the work put into refining them. Most likely.
