Tank

Realistic ALA

Aside from the level 3 radio, this is the ALA that appears in a lot of my builds, a moderately armored infantry tank with a advanced autocannon.

Square Trench Rats

A build that uses Irregulars to slowly grind out ridiculously high org and breakthrough for the cost. While irregulars needs three doctrine milestones to really give you any benefit here, it does eventually get one of the best orgs and very solid breakthrough/soft attack bonuses here! (With some of the pending beta changes, you might be able to achieve far greater breakthrough with mobile warfare, if you want a violent pushing unit here.) Alongside you know, recruitable pop. 5% battle phase breakthrough from smoke and fire. _________________________________ Practically speaking, this doctrine will give a very hard early game before achieving apotheosis. Mobile infantry will give vaguely the same stats, but with worse soft attack by 20 points. Built to hold, and definitely what we in the business would call "Obsolete" when viewed from a historical lens, the high org does mean the enemy will potentially shred these guys if you get pinned down if you don't take advantage of a more expensive airborn armor design to armor meme underequipped enemy units. I should probably post my ALA design, its a bit expensive as its fast enough to go with "Mobile infantry," but it was designed for cheap reliable breakthrough. (What's fun is, you know, you can push it to give up to 30 armor in ALA with a more expensive advanced light tank.)

M3 lee early production

I'm back to present a historical reconstruction of the M3 Lee. At the beginning of production, its armor was riveted, but in later production it became cast. Historically, it was only a transitional tank for the USA. Indeed, at the start of the war, the only tanks available in significant numbers were the outdated Stuarts, and the Sherman wouldn't appear until 1942. In short, it was primarily the result of improvisation. It made a good impression during its first appearance in North Africa, where its 75mm gun riddled the German Panzer IIIs with holes, as they struggled to penetrate it head-on, forcing them to regularly rely on the 88mm anti-aircraft gun, artillery, and aircraft. But it was against the Panzer IVs and other heavier German tanks that it showed its limitations and was replaced by the famous Sherman.

Remember what I told you about the RATS.

I can't show you the maximum breakthrough possible on Rocket Artillery simply because Hoidesigner treats the two types of motorized rockets (TRA, MRA) as one unit, meaning that if I unlock the rocket artillery the stats will double, giving a false picture of how good this is. - It will just act like you can have motor rocket equipment and towed rocket equipment equipped in one spot. Which is a quantum impossibility in hoi. MRA is more expensive, and will have less breakthrough since you can get immense breakthrough on TRA made with an artillery MIO built for breakthrough, where as MRA's MIO is... Trash. (Compare +24% breakthrough with well, nothing.) Still, motor rockets can now act as a budget tank, especially with a proper special forces build for artillery buffing. Remember, we are leaving like 8 breakthrough off the table here!

Watch the big summer patch, if nothing changes cav divs might work.

This is a show of "Viability" rather than a finished division (You have an empty regiment, this is not a finished division in a lot of your eyes.) Mobile warfare, and cavalry get big bonuses to their breakthrough in the next patch. As such, even with your (Fat) bonuses to regimental support artillery breakthrough, you could hypothetically keep more Breakthrough than attack with this design even with more regi-support artillery. Mobile inf also gives cavalry more well rounded bonuses (But less breakthrough.) _________________________________________________________________ Combined with the much cheaper post beta armored cars (Which still fit in the cav column,) and the spirit which reduces armored car costs, scaling this divisions breakthrough and hard attack is remarkably cheap and easy post summer beta for a budget breakthrough division, since you can use armored cars a light artillery asset. _________________________________________________________________ WARNING: I don't have a clean strategy for mitigating the cavs low HP here, since I'm getting a lot of our breakthrough and armor piercing from the airborn light armor. This division was designed to work with flexible/accelerated infantry and the high org you get from mobile infantry, these "Augmented" cavalry are likely just here to act as a mobile counter-attack force when the enemy hits the salient for your spearhead movements.

My partisan division is completely insane.

Besides its high HP and recovery rate, it has the particularity of being inexpensive (except for support equipment) and, above all, self-sufficient in supplies. Of course, I used the Mass Assault, Irregular, Field Engineer, and Guerrilla Warfare doctrines.

Reinforced Paratroops Strike Division

ROLEPLAY EXCUSE: Paratroopers division thats been landed and reinforced with heavy ground assets. ________________________________________________ PROPER EXPLANATION: Assault division that uses the paratrooper tech from last post to create a very cheap, and mildly narrow pushing unit while making the ABSOLUTE MOST of commandos HP and hard attack bonuses. The paratroopers make this division organized despite commando's penalty, and the combination of signal companies and other factors make this division absurdly tanky and capable of reinforce meming, as an all terrain strike force. The idea would be you'd use pure paratrooper divisions as intended to be ambush soldiers that do deep drops behind enemy lines, then switch things over to twice as many of the reinforced strike division once you link up with your paratroopers and save them from being stuck behind enemy lines. You are using both paratroopers high org and good combat stats to counter the only weaknesses of commandos, while taking advantage of too many stacking HP bonuses to make sure these units become veteran. __________________________ ADVANCED TECHNIQUES Go SF and all arms at defense if you are a large nation with a great SF multiplier, or a smaller nation trying to build an offensive fist, go for tip of the spear to make far more of these, as you can make 8 of these with the tip of the spear special forces cap bonus on its own. Four to five prior to you getting the SF cap reduction bonuses. In theory, you could even reinforce this with other special forces, mountaineers/marines, while having the paratroopers tank for your other SF assets, depending on the theater if you have spare cap open.

Mountain guns.

Cold weather specialists is a cracked doctrine, but two things that are greatly intriguing about the competing doctrine are the initiative gained by mountaineers, and the artillery bonus on recon rangers you get with elevate the mountaineers. I decided to do something weird, and select doctrines that aren't all about offensive operations. The initiative from elevate the mountaineers, signal companies, and the coordination bonus from grand assault creates a unique set of conditions. If you throw a bunch of these guys in one battle, they will all select one target and often concentrate and hit that target together, with about 50% more probability than you'd see with a normal unit (This gets better with radio research,) and then focus down the next one, effectively making them really good at reinforce meming. You get to see rabid units that know when the enemy is weak, and then hammer the enemy there. Nice. As a special forces unit, they have HP issues, but I've mitigated it with my normal commando HP stacking that has to be the unique flavor of my divisions at this point. You can probably just smell the commandos just walking in the room. Its my MSG, I like the surviving bodies, experienced soldiers, reduced attrition, and low equipment losses, even if it has a short term cost. I'm sorry, I'll use anti-commando deodorant next time. 33 Width is another combat width you might target with this, but I kept it a bit skinny to fit with the mountain theme.
